Czechvar on tap at Chaucer's

Post by SteelbackGuy »

As if people need another to visit this fantastic bar in London, I just got word that as of next week, they will have Czechvar on tap. One of my all time favourite beers, and it is on tap and locally available! Yay!

I think more people need to start hitting up this place and showing the love! And while you re here, check out the King Edward in Ilderton too!

Good timing. I'll be in London on Saturday, so hopefully it'll be available then. I'll try and stop in before I head over to DJ at the Alex P. Keaton (yes, that's a shameless plug).

I don't know if it will be on by Saturday, but let's hope so.

Jake, one of the bartenders there, mentioned that the next two beers to go on were going to be Paulaner Weisse and Czechvar. I think the Paulaner was first, then the Czechvar was next. I think the Czechvar will replace the Mill Race Mild on the guest tap.

In any event it will be on soon!

Gedge, what are you spinning? If it is some sick Drum and Bass, I'll come check it out!

Nah, I don't spin the D&B - even the healthy stuff.

It's an all-60s night (all played on vintage 45s and LPs).

But here's a D&B joke for you:

Why does the lion always get lost?

BECAUSE THE JUNGLE IS MASSIVE!

I don't get it. Then again, of the ~12GB of music on my hard drive, 95% of it is pre-1980 rock...

Yeah, that joke presupposes familiarity with D&B I guess.

I like it!

And yes, you'd have to listen to D & B to get it, or actually, you'd have to hear live MCs to get it really.

Gedge, what time are you spinning?

I could meet you before or after for a brewski!

Hey Steelback - just saw this. Sorry I missed it until well after the fact. We're back in London on June 14th - so maybe then? Did the Czechvar make it on tap at Chaucer's?

No worries.

They are waiting for the keg of Mill Race Mild to empty, and then it is going on. Probably a week or so.

I'll be there on the 13th, so I will help to drink up the Mild for you to get the Budvar going.

If you see 4 guys, 3 of whom are 6'4" plus, one very heavily tattooed, and one guy about 5'8", that is fairly certainly us. I will be one of the large non-heavily tattooed ones. Say hi, we'll have a pint.
