Desoto's

Post by Cass »

So I am about to move into a new neighbourhood, the St Clair West area. And I noticed quite quickly that there isn't a whole lot of craft beer in the hood, which is one of the reasons I started up the Brewery Market. But there is one spot bucking the trend.

Desoto's is a pub at St Clair and Lauder, about a 15 min walk from St Clair West subway station. It's a nice spot, with two patios facing both St Clair and Lauder and most importantly, all Ontario craft beer.

They presently have a dozen taps, and yesterday they had three from Muskoka (Weisse, Cabin Fever and Lager), three from Cameron's (Cream Ale, Lager, Auburn), three to four from Nickel Brook and Durham Blak Katt as a guest tap.

It's always a hope to see good beer in all parts of the city, and it's great to have Desoto's leading the way in the St Clair West area. It will be a spot I will frequenting regularly!

That's my local and a fine place indeed. My only wish is they'd replace some of those Nickel Brook taps with Great Lakes.

Actually, I did mention to someone at GL that Desoto's would be worth a visit :-)

Cool, someplace to go after the Brewery Market and Stockyards BBQ visit on one of the July dates. Can't get any beer with the BBQ... :(
