No One Writes to the Colonel, 460 College St.

Post by TwoPint »

Websites indicate that it opens at noon. We showed up today at 4:40. The door was open so we went in and were told by a surprised-looking member of the staff that they weren't open until 5. We killed some time walking around the neighbourhood then returned shortly after 5. The door was now locked so we sat on the front patio. Several people came, tried the locked door then left. Some waited on the patio with us. Around 5:45 someone came to the front window and told these other people on the patio to come around the side to the back. The gate was closed on us so I don't think the invite was intended for us. That's when we bailed.

What's up with this place and why should we bother going back?

im surprised you waited so long.
I don’t care what the U.N. says, I don’t recognize countries that don’t produce beer.

Judging by this review you didn't miss much beer wise.

The 4 taps are all St.Ambroise, which isn't a bad thing, but limited none the less. The focus seems to be on cocktails and hipster food. Not really a beer destination but certainly a cool addition to the neighborhood where you can apparently have decent food and a decent pint.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

I wouldn't have considered it if it hadn't been referenced in the St. Ambroise IPA thread.
