The Granite

Post by G.M. Gillman »

The Granite is a stalwart on our brewing and brewpub scene. Great beers, excellent, well-priced food, and nice ambiance enhanced by recent redecorating, e.g. the wood-paneled bathrooms.

On a visit tonight, the IPA was as English as ever and the well-balanced Darkside Black IPA proved the pub keeps up with the trends. I hear tell of new beers to come.

All hail to the Granite.

Yeah, I miss that place (the back courtyard was great with our toddler).

Their stout is second-to-none, and I enjoyed many Best Bitter Specials until the Hoppin' Mad became my brew of choice.

I liked their ribs, but the curry special was always hard to pass up.

The growlers are a good deal too!

Me too - I used to live at Yonge and Davisville, and would go there a lot! All those memories are with my ex, so it'd be nice to build some new ones!

My wife went to school in Nova Scotia and frequented the Halifax pub a lot...

Grew up in the neighbourhood..went to high school right up the street...Granite is a great local bar...and they make their own stuff! Definitely unique in the neighbourhood..always has been..

Good to hear their stout is good...tried most of their usual fare except the stout...all good..

Cheers,

Oh, that kind of wildlife, UGH not a nice experience at all :x ...nasty things aren't they but we do encourage them with our garbage....and I think they just might like beer as well..double whammie!

Perhaps I'll stay inside!

Remember that guy about a year back, who maimed some baby raccoons, because they were getting into his garden every night? Everyone thought he was cruel...

I think that guy should be the next mayor...

Although Bryden's has become my go to pub, I still love the Granite. Great food and beer.

Couldn't be any worse than the current one.

I often think I'll be really sad when the day comes that I hear the Granite is closing.

But I rarely go there anymore as I'm opposite end of town now. As soon as patio season arrives I'll make a point of stopping by...for some beers, and wildlife.

Sounds like the Toronto BTers need to get together for a Granite visit.
