Actually, Glen Breton Whisky, the only single-malt whisky made in Canada, is well respected, even by Scots distillers.

La Brasserie carries some very notable - and good - Belgian beers. You should try them some day. A lot of them are also available at the Esplanade Bier Market if you'd rather go there.
