Westvleteren 12 to split?

Post by atomeyes »

I've ordered in a case of Westy 12. If you're interested in splitting, let me know.
I only want 2 bottles, so I have room for 20.

they are approx $16-17/bottle, so be warned!

I need a solid commitment, so if interested, you need to:

a) PM me
b) give me your email address

Once I get confirmation that the case has arrived (probably within the next month), I'll arrange a meet-up. I'm in East York, so we'll figure things out.

p.s. I plan on squirreling away my bottles. Hoping to hide them for at least 10 years.[/b]

If anybody in the Guelph/Kitcher/Water/Bridge area got any of these and would be willing to split with one (or two) please let me know. Would love to try this stuff.
I don’t care what the U.N. says, I don’t recognize countries that don’t produce beer.

Esprit is listing the 12 at $16 per bottle with case availability in January as per the product listing sent out a couple days ago. I'd suggest that if anyone is interested they should look there.

Alternatively save your bucks and buy more St Bernardus (I see it's also also available from Esprit). For my taste Westvleteren is not an upgrade and certainly not worth the price of 4 Abt 12s.

Good point - even the Rochefort 10 is only 6.10/btl - I know it's rare, but is the westy 12 worth almost three times a Rochefort 10?

To me, half the attraction of this beer is the experience. I had a bottle on my 20th birthday at Pub Italia, and while it was an outstanding beer, it's not something I would pay such an extraneous amount for. By no means do I regret having it, but I probably won't buy it again, unless I come across an exceptional deal.

I've never tried it before. And regardless of how overhyped it may or may not be, I'm happy to pay $30-ish for 2 bottles of a beer that is so highly regarded.
