Faroe Islands

Post by El Pinguino »

Sure, not a destination that many people go to for any reason, let alone beer....but if you by chance are planning to visit the Faroe Islands, I've put together a list of beers I tried there last year.

If you've never heard of the Faroes, they're an island archipelago in the North Atlantic. You can get there from Iceland, or from Denmark. Similar to Iceland, prohibition lasted there for quite some time so the beer scene isn't very exciting (and pales in comparison to their much larger Icelandic neighbours).

In short, the dark beers are decent, in particular a Porter....and Vienna Lagers are common, and drinkable. Pilsners and pale lagers are a bit of a crapshoot, but ultimately you drink what you can find in the Faroes.
