Dominican Republic
I am heading down to the Dominican Republic in April, wondering if anyone has any beer tips, specifically for Santo Domingo.

Presidente! That's the beer you'll see everywhere.
There is a small brewery called Vegana that you may be able to find if you walk around enough. Same with Santo Domingo Brewing. Maybe at local spots like Andre's Carnes and Gallo Pinto you'll find some of these local options.
Bräu Marketbar has imports...and might brew stuff too. There is a place called Beer Market....and lots of American restaurants. You'll find a lot of German beers as well as some Belgians and basic stuff from breweries like Abita and Rogue.
Best bet is to contact one of those small local brewers ahead of time and ask them where to get DR beers....assuming you want to try local stuff? If you just want American beers like Rogue Dead Guy ale, stick to hooters and other American chains

Thanks for the info. I'd like to try some of the local stuff or anything more exciting than Presidente.
