if you're in the area, downtown is City Steam Brewery Cafe

I only got to sample their porter (a bit boozey) , the oatmeal stout (nice dry slightly bitter) and the ACAPULCO GOLD, an APA with nice amount of citrus to it. Next time I'm in town I will go back for a full pint or 4.
There are some good places to eat downtown, a new science centre building, some historic buildings, nice park at the state building. You could probably walk around for an hour and see stuff. West Hartford has a street shopping area you can walk.
Went to a chain liquor store outside of Hartford, M&R Liquors. Lots of wine, and some beer. OK lots of beer. I picked up stuff from the usual craft brews like Stone, Dogfish, Great Divide, Southern Tier, Rouge., plus some more local stuff.
