Admin Note: This thread split off from thread about the LCBO Autumn 2011 release

Seeing the curmudgeonly selection of good beers makes me so happy I'll be spending two months near http://belmont-station.com/

Indeed. My liver failed twice just looking through the site.

It is, even the grocery stores have a better selection than summerhill http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/20606/view=beerfly

I'm so tired of going on "beer quests" in this city. I don't have a car, so it's a little awkward carrying a case of Rogue bombers on the ttc. And the only time I lived close to an LCBO it was the tiniest one ever (under loblaws at St. Clair West) but the beer guy was nice enough to ask me what I'd like him to order.

The beer culture here is getting better, slowly, but Volo and the like are like an oasis in the beer desert that is Ontario. /rant

Even better, my wife's family lives there. No work involved, just an extended vacation. Maybe some wishful thinking house hunting as well.

Belmont was pretty awesome. You can drink anything you want in the cafe next door for a slight surcharge. The sandwiches there are surprisingly good for a simple sandwich. Some stuff on tap as well. Have fun!

You should certainly check out the Whole Foods by Henry's Tavern (which often has Pliny the Elder on tap), as well. Rogue & Deschutes are just a couple blocks away too.

It's nice how they're 'gentrifing' that old, somewhat industrial, area.
