Friend just picked up the calling, saying it has a best before date of Feb 2017, bottled in Feb 2016... Anyone else see this too?

I didn't enjoy this batch nearly as much as the last time it came to the LCBO.

I've heard it's tasting like an old IPA. I guess YMMV.

Had a 7 Hop last night, only slightly chilled / just above room temperature, and it is drinking well IMHO. At 11 weeks old the malt profile is probably a bit sweeter and more pronounced than would otherwise be the case, but there's still layers and layers of juicy hop flavours coming through, with lemon, pine, orange zest, and cut grass on the nose and palate. Medium mouthfeel is oily with a long, resinous finish. This'll probably be good for another couple of weeks before the hops start to fade and the "sweet malt" profile intensifies.

Just okay IMO; I didn't take any notes but you can definitely tell the bottles are 5 months old. Also, with a one-year shelf life I'm guessing they pasteurize their beers, similar to Anchor. And that kind of comes through in the taste i.e. it still has a "bold" hop character because it's a heavily hopped beer, but due to the age of the bottle and the pasteurization the flavours and aromas aren't nearly as bright and pungent as a fresh, well-made, local DIPA.

Just returned from Upper James LC in Hamilton and the Jolly Pumpkin was reduced/on sale for $8 a bottle.

I only bought a couple last week, phew!
