What are you going to do once all the beers are gone?

1) return the whole thing to TBS

2) return the empties by themselves and recycle the box

3) return the empties and keep the box and make up your own for next year

4) ditto #3 and regift the box next year

Lastly would you buy again next year?

Mine was a gift so sure hit me again!
I will do the same as the others. Because it happened to me and not to you there may be some amusement to find in my story. The very first bottle I pulled was empty! Not even a cap. There was no dried beer scent so clearly there never was any beer in the bottle. I have been in touch with my LCBO contact but odds are I am not going to haul that big thing anywhere for a refund or similar. Let's call it "experience".

That would be crap if it was available there only. But it is how they keep many imports "exclusive" and high-priced....by greatly limiting the distribution.

When I had Cascade in NYC, it was ridiculous. Half the serving size at double the price. Really curious to see what TO prices are.

Likely from $60-$80 a bottle. I love Cascade but I was already hurting when I paid $45 a bottle last time.

I really hate that the only payment method allowed is credit on the LCBO website.

I've tried using my Visa Debit, but to no avail. It's the only website that doesn't accept my card.

On the flip side....i hate that some breweries like GLB do not accept AMEX....they'll make more money if I buy direct than if I buy at the LCBO. If Bellwoods ever distributes to lcbo with their new facilities up and running...I'll buy much less direct from them too.

I don't believe this is true.
The way AGCO/LCBO rules work I believe breweries (& distilleries) have to pay up to the gov most (if not all) of the "dividend" LCBO would have made had the product been sold at the bo's stores.

Remember ... alcohol is not normal retail.

So then thee should be zero reason why GLB doesn't accept AMEX at their retail with that logic.

I must be missing something. Why would them having to pay a portion of their sales to the government mean they don't care if they get gouged by AMEX too?

AMEX/Discover take around 50% more from a retailer than VISA/MasterCard does. I'm wondering if that overhead is absorbed by the brewery, or the LCBO (which I doubt).

AMEX is a very expensive card to accept, which is why we dont accept payment via AMEX
