Gouden Carolus Ambrio instead of Classic? :(

Very happy to see Aventinus Eisbock back. I still have a bottle from the previous release.

Generally quite stoked about this release. Concur wholeheartedly on the Aventinus. It’s been quite a while for me with that one.

Is there the usual Hallowe'en release too? Some local Marzens, I hope.

I contacted the LCBO on Facebook and they thanked me for the "catch" and said they will fix this.

there should be 2 more lists. Pumpkin Beers and Ontario beers ie Beau's Fall Mixed Pack, Collective Arts, Mill st, etc.

I saw the Eisbock at the top of that list, and that was enough for me. I've been waiting for them to bring that nectar of the gods back for like 4 (?) years now.

Other than that, I'm not seeing anything too exciting here. Dragon's Milk / Fuller's Imperial Stout are always nice to have. Ditto to the oktoberfestbiers.

Of all the Gouden Carolus beers they could've brought in, the Ambrio is probably the weakest selection. Just IMO.

I read elsewhere that Deschutes Black Butte Porter and Uerige Alt will be included as part of the release. It's still not up on helloLCBO, so can't confirm. Besides those two beers, the Rosetta, and Ayinger Oktoberfest, I'm not particularly excited by this release. I feel like the LCBO is regressing in its beer offerings and I find myself going there much less often now.

Ayinger Marzen - mmmmmmm

I'll buy a few Rosetta, Ueirge, and Aventinus. Hell, I'll give the British BA stouts a chance, ratings be damned.

Praying for that black butte to come back. And hopefully at a bargain price again.

Yep me too, I love Black Butte. Uerige Alt too, I'll buy a case of that stuff, truly a world class beer.

Is Fullers IRS still bottle conditioned? I hope so. I might be in the minority here, but I do miss those Bottle Conditioned ESBs and such we used to get.

Ironically enough, I just brought a Rosetta back from the USA. Was kinda disappointing. Almost zero tartness to speak of, especially for a Kriek. Almost wondered if something was something wrong with it. The cherry and funk flavours were nice though.

Looking forward to this Cuvee Soeur'ise I just found at the Parkdale LCBO. :)

I'm happy with this release. All four German beers are excellent and there are three UK imperial stouts (two new ones for me and Fuller's is one of my absolute favourites). Will happily try the Boulevard whiskey barrel aged stout as well.

Is the Van de Keizer Imperial Blond the same as the Rood?
