This. Is.. Genius.... but those Leffes would be Quebec labeled.
A little steam is all that should be required to remove those labels.

The real problem with the Leffe's is they're not even a guarantee of the Cantillon, it just gets you a chance at Cantillon.

Notable.ca is claiming April 20 as the day Sierra Nevada will hit LCBO shelves.

12 days in the warehouse roughly?

That would be a seemingly super quick turnaround for the LCBO...let's hope it happens!

I would admire some honesty in the language of our beloved Provincial institution. Just call it like it is, 'Release date - oh sometime in April, May, or whenever... We don't really care about this sh%t. You'll buy it anyways, and if it goes stale we can pin the expense back on the brewery...'

See, it's all about integrity and honest communication...

from this article:

http://bensbeerblog.com/2014/11/17/sier ... o-ontario/

"I asked if there were any concerns regarding the freshness of the beer that would be brought to Ontario given that pale ale is a style best enjoyed as fresh as possible and the fact that Chico, California is pretty far from my neighbourhood LCBO. Von Teichman said that the folks at Sierra Nevada understand my concerns and that freshness was actually part of the reason for the LCBO tour last year. Sierra Nevada was assured that the beer inventory the LCBO keeps on hand is small and that they could guarantee a quick turnaround time. Interestingly, von Teichman said that what really reassured the Sierra Nevada folks was the fact that Heineken had apparently very recently conducted a global survey on the freshness of their beer and found that the freshest Henineken anywhere in the world outside of their home market was here in Ontario. Furthermore, the beer coming to Ontario will be coming from Sierra Nevada’s North Carolina brewery, not California so it will be on a truck for roughly a day and a half before it arrives in Ontario."

can't help but think about DDC moralite from Quebec sitting in the warehouse for over a month.. but hey - we have fresh Henineken!

My thoughts exactly!

So ... what does stale Heineken taste like? Is the skunk profile more pronounced?

Whoa whoa, listen, you can't risk upsetting the stringent freshness-police that are Heineken drinkers.

So maybe fall/winter for the Chimay Bleu?
Maybe I'm misreading, but the last time Chimay Blue was offered was... right now? There are a couple stores showing 100+ bottles of the 330ml bottles.

Is there any sort of "priority" treatment given to releasing products to stores at the LCBO?

Surely some items that make it into the warehouse are quickly turned around and on store shelves within days...while others (perhaps as part of a release) sit for months?

Jsut curious if there is a way to fast-track items.

Anyone know of taste testing between Chico Sierra Nevada and North Carolina Sierra Nevada? Just curious. Presumably, if nothing else, the water is different
