Yep, I saw a bunch in California last week too at Total Wine at 12.99.

How much was BCBS the last time it was at the lcbo? $20?

The first Bourbon County I enjoyed was 10 years ago, staying in NYC. Got it at the Bowery and shared the small bottle.

I think that was the best Bourbon County I had, ever. Had something extra going on.

$22.95 is way out of line with the LCBO's usually cheap pricing for US craft.

Holy crap. It cost me less to trade for 2018 Prop and Reserve. It will only be slightly more per bottle for a pre-trade I have for Double Barrel and Caffe de Ola! The one bottle limit is rather annoying too. I think I’ll just grab it off the shelves down south at some point next month.

There really is no rhyme or reason to pricing here. The fact we get Utopias for the equivalent of US$85 when it is minimum US$190 down south is even more confounding.

Sometimes companies use high pricing to position their brands as "super premium" in a market. This could be going on here, especially with Goose bringing such a limited supply.

BCBS variants and special sours that were released at LCBO in years past were also very limited and expensive.

Oh sure. I understand the concept. It is just odd how one “premium” product can be cheaper than anywhere on the planet, and another can be among the most expensive anywhere.

The recent Cantillon and 3F pricing was in line with other markets. In fact, the Hommage was a little cheaper than in many markets south of the border.

When Goose Island first brought up the Vanilla Rye for Black Friday in 2015, it was only a little over $30 and already had a year of great reviews and high secondary value.

But who knows, pricing on this south of the border can be all over the place. I just hope New York gets a reasonable allocation this year. I know in Florida, and Tennessee the stuff sits on the shelf for a year or more.

Both Moosehead “small batch” beers I’ve had previously were decent. Not anything I bought again, but I didn’t regret either purchase.

Nothing about Moosehead, but I can't imagine doing anything other than regretting a peppermint IPA.

Maybe it's amazing? Someone buy one and let me know

yeah, Moosehead isn't anything to write home to Mom about. distribution of the Small Batch series doesn't seem so great.

I don't remember much about the Prairie Honey Wheat Ale, but that's not a favourite style of mine anyway. The London Stout was good.

I agree. Sometimes I think brewers sit around just trying to think of some flavour that hasn't been seen in a beer before so they can try it. But some just don't sound right to me. I recall not buying Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate, Banana & Peanut Butter Ale for this reason. Peppermint IPA does not grab my interest.
