An article (The Grid?) advised aging the VDK Blauw for a year to let it become more balanced and less heavily sweet. I like it right now! It punches Chimay Bleu in the balls pretty hard, it is a much more well-rounded beer.JeffPorter wrote:Tried a bottle of the van keizer last night and tonight finishing the bottle tonight, the sweetness is obviously coming through a lot more with a little less carbonation ...
Speaking of physical violence, I had the Skull Splitter BW today, seems a bit sharp at first but it's really good - it might age in a way similar to the Schloss Eggenberg beers.
Better drink up my old Samichlaus to make room for the new shipment! It must be freaking awesome with proper age on it.

Technically showing 1 in stock at 60 Carlton in Toronto, but hopefully the fact that it's up is a sign of more to come, and soon.

I wish I had known this two weeks ago when I drank my van keizer. It was so sweet I found it disgusting. It was like someone had poured a bag of sugar into my beer. It was practically undrinkable for me at this point.Belgian wrote:Should age it a year, even the Grid columnist knows that!distr0 wrote:i had a van keizer last night, way too sweet for my taste. reminded me of an ice wine almost
Extremes don't bother me so much. Comes from being a resilient red wine drinker or something.
yeah, I have another bottle that won't be touched for at least a yearBelgian wrote:Should age it a year, even the Grid columnist knows that!distr0 wrote:i had a van keizer last night, way too sweet for my taste. reminded me of an ice wine almost
