I've had this fresh and aged (old bottle from Premier that was considerably less expensive than what I paid for it fresh, $12/13 compared to $20ish). I wasn't a big fan of the aged bottle.Belgian wrote:^ Sorachi Ace sounds pretty good, I'll for sure try to get a few. Bottle re-fermented saison with champagne yeast. I like the sound of those rare hops, added post fermentation; overall flavor 'lemon curd' effect.
Would this keep a year or two or are the hops that fragile?

Considering the hop featured in the beer is in it's name, I too would suspect it wouldn't do well with age. Because of, you know, hops.Kish84 wrote:I've had this fresh and aged (old bottle from Premier that was considerably less expensive than what I paid for it fresh, $12/13 compared to $20ish). That and more on th label, including font sizes so it needed to be stickered. The biggest problem is that it is slightly over the case weight limit in it's original 12 pack carton so it needed to be repacked into a customized 8 pack carton that requires partitions and labeling.spinrsx wrote:just the label needs to say 'strong beer' and have some french on it? Or something else?TCB wrote:[This product needs considerable rework before it reaches the LCBO
I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here but I saw Saison Dupont Bon Vieux at Queens Quay and Dundas/Dovercourt locations in Toronto.
I think it was hinted by the agent some time ago it was coming to the LCBO, what I did not expect was that it made it here in a magnum-sized bottle.
Also saw the Fullers Vintage 2014 at Dundas/Dovercort.

This beer is crazy good right now...like a lemon bomb in my nose. And worth the ten bucks, I think. Drink this before the snow flies!liamt07 wrote:Considering the hop featured in the beer is in it's name, I too would suspect it wouldn't do well with age.
