Need this beer! Bought one from the brew shop when I was back home. It's so good.
Not in the system, but stocked on shelves at Summerhill yesterday. I had one. It was awesome.

Thanks. Literally came back to renege my post. Found stacks of it out at the Coxwell/Queen LCBO on my way home from work. They also had Great Lakes Meanwhile Down in Moxie in 355ml can 4-packs, and Nickelbrook Pineapple Uber. Quite a pleasant trip!

Agreed, and it's also great to see something from Poland that is not a pale lager. There is a real lack of variety in the central/eastern European selection in this province. More baltic porters and dark lagers from that region would be a welcome addition to the shelves.

From my understanding, Polish micro-brews are attempting their own golden-age currently with all types of beer experiments, with some success and penetration in the EU. We are deaf to this progress because we only sample what the LCBO let's us. In this case, Komes is a Fortuna beer which is like the one of the most established Polish-micro brews. But who knows how many smaller and better ones there are in the country, like in many other countries. I don't suppose very many Belgians, Germans or Poles have Bellwoods or Great Lakes Brewery on their radars now.

Interesting you bring this up. Being an anal accountant I keep track of my "inventory" in a spreadsheet. One of the data points is a calculation of cost/ml of alcohol (i.e. a $5 10% beer is "cheaper" than a $5 6% beer - also accounts for size of can-bottle).

Based on what I have in the house, average cost per ml of alcohol:
American $0.13
European $0.15
Ontario $0.18

Average untappd score:
American 3.67
European 3.51
Ontario 3.47

Yesterday I made a Friday afternoon/vacation/countryside trip to 4 Whitby breweries* (Town, Little Beasts, 5 Paddles, and Brock St) and bought 24 cans/bottles ... only Brock offered anything anywhere close the $4 mark!!!

Took 3 years into my "beer discovery" but I've now realized - with a few exceptions - its financially foolish to be buying beer from local micro breweries! May have to pull back on my Ontario beer spending.

*population: <130,000, :o

Albeit not mathematically confirmed, I had a hunch about this for many years now. I'm always keen to discover great high gravity and tasty beers at a lower cost - eg., Aventinus, Unibrou, Sinha, Chimay etc. and now Komes. I don't mind spending $20/bottle of beer for a single session of discovery, but my go to has invariably been these tasty, great value beers that are in no shape or form any worse than the luxury brands.

Bought a couple at Summerhill and having one now. It certainly is different! Almost more of a bitter tropical cocktail than a beer. Very enjoyable after golf but it is like a high ABV Radler almost. But as I say I'm enjoying it very much, so this is an observation not a complaint.

I saw Liquid Arts at the Lewiston NY Tops today! I haven’t even seen it in Ontario yet

GLB's Meanwhile..Down In Moxee is drinking pretty darn juicy. Get it while it's still fresh. It's also well priced at $2.74 per can.

Bought a four pack and fell in love. I think it's better than Octopus Wants To Fight.

Anyone have a SKU # or anything? I can't find it in the system.

Or......could just provide the location in which they acquired the beer!

I got it at Queen & Coxwell, but it's pretty much all over.

That's the one. It's the first 4-pack of short cans I can think of in the LCBO for GLB.

Wow, it really sucks they retail most products we can get in Ontario yet the listing is nigh impossible to find.

I couldn't find the Collective Arts Liquid Art anywhere either, I suspect they are relying on our usual powers of extra-sensory perception to locate products.

Tanks for the hep.

Unfortunately, Liquid Art doesn't seem to be listed under "Collective Arts Brewery" so I can't help there.

From what I hear, this one is all over the place too. And I'm sure will be readily available at Liquid Arts festival next weekend!
