midlife crisis wrote:Certainly a good number of Marzens to choose from right now, in no particular order: Sam Adams, HB, Beau's, Barn Door, Black Oak, Creemore, Mill Street, even I suppose Rickard's Lederhosen.

Anyone tried them all and care to rank them in order?
HB, Mill St, Sam Adams, Black Oak, Creemore, Beaus, Barn Door

Haven't had the Rickards

Oktoberfest is one of my favourite styles, I love we have so many options.
HB and then Black Oak for me. Love the HB, but as far as "lower abv" marzens are concerned, Black Oak is just crazy drinkable.

If you search TBS for Delirium, then use the store locator function for the single bottle listing you should be able to find it.

It's funny, I had a Beau's on tap tonight and it was really hop-focused, very little malt to be found. Blindfolded I would have said Creemore. Wonder if they messed up the taps...

A style with many shades and variations. It's all I picked up in Buffalo last time down there, Victory Festbier (amazing) and Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest (ahead of the middle of the pack).

I had a Brooklyn Oktoberfest which was lingering in the fridge for a year or so, it still tasted pretty solid and I was expecting to cook with it but I drank it instead :).

Drove to that store tonight and the girl said many people called in about it and it was selling pretty fast (i think they had under 80 bottles then). It was my first time sipping on DT. Its a nice, tame, balanced tripel and kind of a misnomer imo, since you're expecting something more intense from that name. But its good, especially at higher temps.

The distribution so far looks kind of sparse and not too many bottles/store either. Does anyone know the total bottles we should expect ? Will it be a permanent product at the BS like Unibrou?

for the listing fees they pay? i'd suggest it is relatively permanent.

and i'm surprised this is your first go at it. it's been on toronto taps for ages. weird places like Sin and Redemption and Bier Bistro had it on tap.

I've had the Norseman, and it's one of the best Eisbock's I've tried.

I wouldn't consider collaborators Ryan Morrow & Kjetil Jikiun rookies.

Not sure what living in Germany has to do with drinking Eisbock's but no, I didn't.
