It was decent. Very fizzy, it actually gushed when I opened it. It drink likes a belgian dubbel to an extent - needs more body. Alcohol was very well hidden though.

Maybe something that would get better in the cellar.

Molson is reaching in to the vault and bringing back Molson Golden, in a 625 ml bottle no less. New LCBO listing, no inventory showing.

Back in the day, Golden was an ale, but it got 'converted' to a lager before it was retired. At least, I assume it was completely retired. Haven't seen it in years.

Renaissance Tribute Barley Wine (NZ) 13444 is now in some stores part of the Winter release that is finally out but hard to track down because the LCBO does not have the sku in the system for a search. Called about it and their IT dept still hasn't resolved the issue after a week. Last release we got was a few years ago with the 2012 vintage in a 330ml bottle when they brought in a variety of Renaissance beers. This one is a 500ml bottle and already selling at 30% off.(at my local store anyway) Tastes a bit sweet right now so a good one to cellar.

I'll confess that I've become a bit numb to pricing, and don't usually pay a lot of attention to it. But this does look like a great bargain.

I agree, it’s a top 10 value for ratings and abv per $

Thanks for the info. I doubt Toronto stores have the 30% off deal.

I had a Grandauer Export that is classed as a Dortmunder.

(Now having a Godspeed Otsukoresma which better deserves to be called a Dortmunder.)

Hello and hope everyone is well!
Just wanted to let you know that Gregorius, Austria's Trappist Beer is back at the LCBO. LCBO # 406439 $4.95 330 ml 9.7% alc./vol.

Named after Abbot Gregorius Eisvogel who first guided the refugee monks from Alsace/France to Abbey Mariawald and Abbey Banz of Germany until they reached their final destination, Stift Engelszell. Abbot Gregorius then led the Trappist Monastery for over 25 years. It’s special recipe incorporates organic honey from local beehives around St. Engelszell as well as the unique use of an “Alsatian wine yeast”.

We hope you like it!

Cheers,
