First off, light years better than the Maple Bacon Doughnut. No contest, hands down. Second, is it worth paying $11? No. But if you want to have it for the novelty factor then split the cost with someone.

The raspberry flavour is the most noticeable but it's not over the top like a framboise or KLB. The chocolate is there but not prominent. I'm not sure where the pretzel comes in. It's probably too cold at the moment.

Unless you absolutely hate fruit related gimmicky beers I think the worst you'll have to say about this is "Meh."

Damning with faint praise indeed.
Wow. First of all they just added pretzels to the brewing, they didn't claim to be going for a pretzel flavor. Perhaps the lye they use in pretzel glazing should come across?

Secondly it's amazing how Rogue can possibly blow these. Maple and bacon are great flavors, so are chocolate and raspberry. They should hit it out of the ball park but instead make Voodoo Donut beers that are famously meh. "What a hoax. I must try one."

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the link Belgian. My wife and I have been making our own pretzels for a while with varying degrees of success. I learned a few tricks that will hopefully make the next batch even better.

Great man. I'll add 'excellent googling skills' my résumé.

Meanwhile don't go all FIGHT CLUB on your missus and give each other matching lye scars.

I am curious to try this and will need to track down a bar that will be carrying this in Toronto as I have never had a Central City beer that I did not like. I find it a bit frustrating we can't get the ESB in Ontario and even more frustrating is the fact that we can get IPA in cans only at the LCBO, Pale Ale only on tap at select bars and now the ISA but only in keg format at the B.S.....It would be great to standardize the availability here in Ontario but I guess we in Ontario should be happy with what we get and that there are breweries out there willing to tolerate the strict guidelines that need to be followed in order to sell alcohol in this province :)

I love Central City but didn't care much for their ISA. Found it really thin body and the hops seemed a little soapy.

Now if we could get the Phillips Session ale. Man that one blew me away.

I had the same reaction, but it's actually cheaper per unit than the previous large bottle.

$5.25 for 473 mL = 1.110 cents/mL
$7.95 for 650 mL = 1.223 cents/mL
