GLB mentioned on their facebook page a few days ago it should be hitting shelves very soon, it's in the hands of the LCBO right now..

From my experience with Vintage 2010, the sweetness fades leaving the subtle flavours more noticeable.
There can be microflora aging in 'live' beers and in sterilized beers you could arguably get a chemical degradation (all aging is degradation - ask a biologist how a side of beef is aged.)

Of course like unpasteurized milk cheese, you'd expect a better result that way.

Exactly. Plus, J.W.Lees is filtered and pasteurized, and nobody argues about whether it develops well in the cellar.

Midlands Butter Tart Ale
LCBO#: 448886 | 473 mL can
$3.25
I've had a couple of these now and was left rather underwhelmed. Taste just like your average amber with small notes of maple. I have a feeling that this collab was more Sweet Grass Brewing, less Sawdust City.

Actually pretty good pricing $34.75/4= $8.69/ea CAD

I paid $7.00 USD for a double bastard this year. Add in an oaked brew and an unusual find and it seems like a pretty good deal. Guess the sticker shock could scare some. Funny how many can grab four bombers off the shelf and the total price is higher then the four bottle package but the mind doesn't see it that way, we see a big number not 4 smaller numbers that add up to a bigger number than the package deal! Ah psychology of the mind :)

I've had all of them but the DEPTH-CHARGED and in my opinion, no.

I should qualify that to say that it's a very reasonable price given what those beers go for other places. This is one of those times where the bulk-purchasing and relatively low markup of the LCBO is working to our advantage. But the beers themselves simply aren't that great for me. Arrogant Bastard's good, but not my favourite example of the style. The Double doesn't do it for me, I find it too malty to be a big IIPA and too hoppy to be a barley wine. The Oak I thought made the beer worse and I can't really imagine the coffee combo working out well either.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to call me a heathen for discrediting the pinnacle example of the style.
