Green Flash no longer at the lcbo

Post by spinrsx »

sigh..

When asked if there will be more green flash at the lcbo,

NAC says: we were the sub agent for the brand and severed ties 8 months ago with the Agent from BC. Not too sure what they plan on doing as distribution is all but gone.

Every time I saw this beer on shelves, bottles were dusty and had floaters coming out the wazoo.

This is an IPA. Bring it fresh, or don't bring it at all.

Look at it from a good angle... local IPAs are catching up, may be no longer need for this run of the mill west coast IPA anyways

Get it before it's gone.

I don't always drink beer ... because sometimes my friends win and we have to go to macro-only establishments.

When fresh the Green flash is excellent. IM (not so) HO, the bottles we received at the LCBO were far from their peak.

Yes, I can think of at least 50 IPAs that are better and still accessible.

Just saw they had fresh West Coast IPA (in the new packaging) at the Cooper St location in Toronto and it is tasting stellar with a best before of what I think reads 1/1/2015. Hard to tell as the date colour is hard to decipher from the purple packaging/lable colour. Regardless it is tasting very fine!

Thanks for the heads up. I've avoided this beer for most of the time that it's been here since the dates have usually been terrible, but will likely grab some now. Cheers!

I'm really happy this beer is available again (for now). Trying it for the first time was a watershed moment in my enjoyment of beer.

I noticed it's now labelled as a double IPA at 8.1% abv. It was previously labelled as an IPA at 7.3% abv. I'm curious if it tastes any different.

I agree. There are a lot of people who really love this beer, but I am not one of them.
