"The Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous has been around for nearly a year now, bringing faces from breweries and the beer industry down to Wunderbar and building a community around the craft beer scene here in Edmonton. These events have been so well received and supported that we have planned a special event to commemorate our one year anniversary coming in June. We didn't want to hold just any old event, we wanted it to be memorable and original. So, the Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous will be celebrating our one year anniversary with Edmonton's first ever multiple cask ale event....a Cask Ale Day.

To help the EBGA celebrate by holding Edmonton's first ever cask ale day/multiple cask event, we're going to be joined by the likes of: Amber's, Alley Kat, Jasper Brewing, Phillips, Wild Rose, and Yukon Brewing. So far, the breweries participating are bringing six casks, and a selection of other beers to the event. Further information about the specific beer(s) the breweries are bringing will be available on the EBGA website as it is available (likely to be updated once per week).

The anniversary of the EBGA will be held on 23 June, 2012 starting at 1pm at Wunderbar. Tickets went on sale last night at the regularly scheduled EBGA event where those in attendance were the first to hear about the event and had first crack at buying tickets (which are now 1/3 sold!). For $15, the ticket gets you in the door, commemorative coasters, and one beer voucher.

As the capacity of Wunderbar is limited, only 60 tickets are available for sale; those wishing to participate will have to act quickly to get a ticket to this event (see contact information below). Ticket sales will be limited to two per person.

The EBGA wishes to extend immense thanks to Wunderbar, Keg'n'Cork Liquor Co., and Sherbrooke Liqour as our primary sponsors as well as all of the breweries participating and most of all, the community in Edmonton that has made the EBGA possible! We hope you can come to this first ever event for Edmonton and to help us celebrate our one year anniversary!

Cheers! ....and Happy Anniversary EBGA!

Really pleased to be a part of this; I wonder if we can eventually reach Volo Cask Days status?

Edmonton is a pretty good size... it should be feasible to have fest like the early cask days (though they're getting quite large now).

Vancouver is actually smaller (but the metro area is larger) and they've had some good fests, and they always seem to have a cask on somewhere.

Kelowna is smaller than Cambridge, Ontario. Tree tried to do a few cask events here, but they never took off.
