1st in Toronto to try Hop Addict last night at Smokless Joes!

It was pretty good. Don't wait too long to give it a try.

Why, is it only a one-off or seasonal release? It is nice to see Durham trying something new; can we expect other fine establishments getting this beer as well? Glad to hear you think it is decent.

Dunno. Would be interested to see if anyone else will be carrying it.

I just saw on the Victory Cafe website that they tapped a keg of the Hop Addict yesterday.

And Ralph at Volo mentioned on the weekend that they will be getting it in sometime soon as well.

Great suggestion, I will try to sample this at its prime.

--- update ---

It was fine, but didn't really rock my boat personally. Worth a try.

I just had Hop Addict at C'est What. I hope they add this to their permanent offerings.

Yeah, I've been popping in to the Victory a lot these past few weeks in order to drink it. Very glad to have it so close to home.

It's been at Volo for at least the last week or so too.

I had one last night at Volo. It's very good. It has more more balance between hop and malt than some heavily hopped ales - quite like the "new" Sgt. Majors.

Good job Durham.

I've tried this one twice now, and found myself a bit disappointed with it. I think I was expecting a bit more based on the name.

However I must state that both times this beer was tasted immediately after drinking Black Oak Cask, and I'm not sure there's any beer that can stand up to that comparison!

Finally got a chance to try this yesterday at lunch at BeerBistro... First off, I feel quite honored to have a beer named after me... Ha ha ha...

I really enjoyed it, it's certainly another strong addition to a small group of more extreme OCB beers. I love the tap handle, for those that haven't seen it, it's shaped like a large hyperdermic needle filled with hop cones, very cool!

It's of course a very hoppy IPA, or perhaps APA, nice malt character as well.

I'd love to hear from someone at Durham to know if they plan to get this into bottles at some point.

I wonder if the label/name will present a problem? If cute pink elephants are contraband I can hardly imagine the reaction to the implication that someone might become addicted to a cannabis family plant!!!!
