Brussels Wit

Post by Bytowner »

It has arrived. It was tasty enough, I think I'd take a BDC over it though. A little too "soft" all around, it would have been nice to have a little more spice, an edge.

Worth a try.

Oh yeah, Brussels is decent Wit but I'd just as soon enjoy Mill Street or UniBroue. I'l keep an open mind and re-try it.

Wow, this one out "weirds" the Edelweiss by a long shot. Interesting, but very unbalanced. Aroma is overwhelmingly orange. A little clove and corriander, but mostly orange. Flavour, on the other hand is a little orangy, but mostly corriander......like drinking a tea made of nothing but coriander, really. All of the components are there for a good Belgan wit, but out of place due to their dominance in their respective fields. Again, drinkable, but a little odd.

Enjoying one of these right now. What I really like about it and what sets it apart from other Wit's in my mind is the soft and smooth feel to it. The thing I hate most about a lot of wheat beers is the excessive effervescence, but this one is really mild in that aspect which allows me to enjoy the actual flavours better. Combine that with the cool label on the bottle and I might actually buy this again! :P
