...and it was wonderful. After reading all the comments here, I was really looking forward to trying this and I wasn't disappointed.TwoPint wrote:The Number 9 was on draught at C'est What yesterday.

I'll be at Cest what this weekend, so I hope it is on so I can give it a whirl!El Pinguino wrote:Sounds liek I'll need to try this again. I was wholly underwhelmed by it when I had it at C'est What awhile back, and have skipped over it numerous times since then.

It's actually starting to taste a bit "old" now. It wasn't a shadow of it's former self on cask this past Saturday and by last night it had become undrinkable, IMO. And I just can't drink the keg stuff, just doesn't taste or feel right. A shame.
Same here. Except I had it at Volo. It wasn't bad but it didn't wow me enough to repeat. Based on what other people are saying I think I seriously need to give it another try.El Pinguino wrote:Sounds liek I'll need to try this again. Geez, hopefully it is in ok form on Sunday!

If it's on Keg then you'll be fine, if you like that kind of beer. It's just the brewery conditioned "cask ale" that has gone a little 'stale' and old tasting, IMHO.SteelbackGuy wrote:Torontoblue wrote:It's actually starting to taste a bit "old" now. Remember when everyone was in love with Sgt. Major's? Remember when we all had a hoppy IPA we could be proud about, but then the relationship soured? Well, happy times have returned, my friends, because there's now a great bottle Toronto IPA which you can all go and pick up!
Number 9 has made the transition to bottle very well. I'd say its slightly less juicy and a bit more toasty than on tap, but ridiculously sessionable for it. Still got some good grapefruit to it, a decent bitterness (especially by Ontario standards), a fresh nose, and some good looks. Congratulations to Mike on a successful bottling!
