Hoptimum / Nugget Nectar
Hoptimum / Nugget Nectar
Tryed this DIPA tonight from Sierra Nevada.
One of the most bitter aftertastes I've experienced in a beer. Straight up pine needle nose, mild malt backbone. Biggest palate wrecker since Ruination. Large format bottle limits drinkability here.
Might as well chew on a whole cone hop.
Recommended to Hop Heads.

Don't hold bottles back for me. I will very likely find my way to Buffalo between now and the time I may or may not get my hands on KBS. If we worked out a trade for KBS it would be for something other than Hoptimum.heebes wrote:Pending trades via sevenduffs and kish, but what would you be willing to trade?

Nice piney, bitter hop profile with hints of tropical fruits, especially in the nose. But the malt profile is too sweet and syrupy. I feel in terms of American DIPAs it doesn't measure up (especially at the price) to the great ones but I also wish some Ontario brewers would have the balls to fail and make a beer this big and badass. Sure, it's not perfect nor great but it's a fine, bigass DIPA and that's something we have a serious dearth of in the province.

For every good review I have read for Hoptimum, there is one just like yours that describes it as an absolute mess.ritzkiss wrote:Nice piney, bitter hop profile with hints of tropical fruits, especially in the nose.
