"Waffle Face" is far too violent a beer name, especially given the semi-recent devastation caused by earthquakes in New Zealand

I cannot see how regulators will ever approve a beer so named for consumption by defenseless, puppy-like Ontarians. Better go try it now!!

Had some last night. It was not very porter like, more Belgian meets Barleywine but it was pretty interesting. Hard to drink more than small quantity (especially at the end of a pub crawl) but I am glad I tried it.

Fixed that for you. Also offensive to those who have been involved in Waffle Iron mishaps.

Recent twitter post from Volo said they just tapped the real one. Hmmm... So what was the previous one? And will the current one make it to Saturday?

I doubt it, especially since Saturday is the first round of the IPA Cask Fest

Damn! Hopefully it makes another appearance. Thanks for the reminder on the IPA thing, saves me a trip up there.

Tried this yesterday at Volo. Interesting concept but no Baltic or porter and not very well executed.
Fuckin' magnets... How do they work?

Definitely interesting, I think the maple overwhelmed what roasty notes were there. Based on the small sample and lack of carbonation I am more than willing to retry it.

The real Waffle Face will be on today at Volo. I sampled a preview and it's asbolutely delicious. 5oz of it is more then enough though, it's a slow sipper in the vein of a Sam Adams Utopias.
