Arch Brewing Dinner Jacket O'Red
Tried a can last night. I was disappointed by this one. Maybe the 60 IBUs quoted on the can raised my expectations, but I found this a bit thin. It was bitter, sure, but really lacked complexity and was on the sweet side. Reminded me of Dead Elephant in cans (without the cigarette off-flavours).

I liked it fine enough, but I think my hopes were raised as I was hoping for something akin to the older "redder" version of Headstock. I found the hops came out for me once I let it sit out for more than a few minutes.Gedge wrote:Tried a can last night. I was disappointed by this one. I found the malts and hops pretty in check and not overly sweet, but I do wonder if some more body would help out.
I have a soft spot for red and brown ales, so I'm sure I'll buy it from time to time when it's fresh.

Bought some this weekend, and agree with you completely. More body is needed.JeffPorter wrote:I found the malts and hops pretty in check and not overly sweet, but I do wonder if some more body would help out...

That beer is already quite light and, of course, is not an IPA. I haven't even tried this Dinner Jacket creation but the comments here make me think of another thread that everyone was posting in a few days ago...jaymack wrote: Funny, I kept thinking of a weaker version of a Fuller's London Pride.
