Block 3 King Street Saison

Picked up a 6 pack today @ the brewery, along with a Frankenstout. Bottled today,according to the bottle, can't beat that for freshness. 4.7%,i like this, considering the trend for Saisons now tends to be up in the 7-8% range. 4$ per bottle

Very decent beer. Appearance is a typical Saison look, lots of tiny bubbles streaming up the glass. Smells a bit yeasty,some corriander,white pepper-barn-yardy smell.
The mouthfeel is light, a touch too sweet for me,the carbonation doesn't live up to the look of it. I get lemon,spruce tips,some banana. Everything is very subtle
Overall it's a really easy drinking beer that has enough personality to keep you coming back. You could easily down 7 or 8 of these quickly sitting on a patio in the sunshine. Also a good beer for people that aren't craft beer fans. For me, it lacks that almost, champagne-like carbonation that a great saison has(Dupont) or even goose islands Sofie, or Ommegang's, and that is IMO the best part of a Saison. Glad to see a good Ontario Sasion. I'd give it a solid 7.5-8/10

I've got no position or affiliation with them, just drinking some of their beer.

Good to hear. The Block 3 beers I grabbed last year were all decent, but "safe" beers. I am supposed to visit Guelph in the next week or two and like that more breweries are popping up over in that area-ish.

I like this beer even if it doesnt drink like a saison.

Yes, agree, it is very nice. I liked their Alt, which is out now, too. It was on tap at Taco Farm.

I thought the saison came across more like a North Americanized version....a crisp, slightly spiced up wit rather than a funky true to style Belgian saison. That said, I still dug it and found it to be very refreshing.

The Alt was pretty solid, although I couldn't quite tell if some butterscotch was coming through in the aroma as it warmed. I have a couple more bottles to drink, so I will revisit it.

They did an old ale a white back....called Florida Orange Ale, or something like that (no idea about the name) but it was a spot on interpretation of an underrepresented style.

Definitely interested in trying more from these guys.
