Anchor Porter
The pre-craft craft porter (100% malt), introduced in 1972. Now at LCBO, finally. Fresh-tasting, rounded with a chocolate sweetness and moderate bitterness. Close long-lasting head. Excellent, natural tasting brew. I always wish the Anchor beers weren't pasteurized because IMO it has to knock out some of the character, but still it is very good, porter is a resilient brew by definition..

Think this is what I did wrong.GregClow wrote:
I agree with you on the serving temp as well, Gary. It was too cold out of the fridge, but I let it sit in the glass for 30 minutes or so, and it's been just about perfect.
It was too chilled coming out of the fridge but I was too impatient. The aroma seemed muted when it was cold. Oh well, five more to get it right.

i wish we had a local option like this with widespread LCBO distribution
It's kind of the perfect beer to switch to, from or between IPAs such as Centennial. It's a pretty serious porter and yet it's not hogging into the RIS territory, palate-wise.

I tried today at Leaside with the new U.S. Porters (Arcadia, New Holland, Smuttynose) but no dice. No code yet according to the clerk. She was apologetic and nice about it, at least, so that was a (rare) positive.liamt07 wrote:Any "open" six-pack is eligible to be split up into singles.shintriad wrote:Anybody know if they'll let you pull singles, or does it have to be sold as a sixer?
