Barncat Artisan Ales, Cambridge

Post by atomeyes »

It's probably 6+ months away, but hell, why not mention it.
jeremy (or J3r3my on here) is opening a brewery in/near Cambridge. Barncat Artisinal Ales can be followed on twitter. @Barncatales

If you haven't read about Jeremy's beer or had the priviledge of trying one: they're good. no 100 Mile Lager or Blah Blah Ale.
read some of his brews in the homebrewing thread. I've had a number of his beer, including his flanders red. So yeah, be excited.

Nice. Any brewery opening somewhere closer than Toronto is good news.

The other half of Barncat is a BT member too actually! I will let him come in here and reveal himself though.

But yeah, we are a ways out still. We just placed the order for the brewhouse this week, so the ball is rolling.

Finally, a new brewer(y) I'll be happy to try!

Having the privilege of trying most of Jeremy's beers, and constantly picking his beers over well established breweries (Bruery, Bellwoods, and DDC come to mind) in blind tastings, yeah, I'm excited.

Just imagine the amount of durian (and the stench) you need to make that large of a batch!!!

Very awesome! Judging from your homebrew posts, we're in for some very nice beers in Ontario in the future!

The quality of Jeremy's beer was more than enough to convince me that he should go pro!

It was a no brainer to partner with him on this venture and I’m proud to be the other half of Barncat Artisan Ales

As Jeremy said we still have a ton of work to do but one of us keep this community updated as things come together.

cheers

I'm exceptionally proud to be one of the few that can withstand the power of the Durian saison. Honestly, I don't find it too bad when it's Coors Light cold.

Seriously, I'd rather have the Durian saison over 2 of the beers I've just had. Why do so many Ontario breweries fail at pale ales/Ipa's. I'm just happy my scepticism had me ordering half pints.

I can safely say the Durian Saison is not a recipe we will be scaling up.
