Did you stop by pilot? The Anthem blend is fantastic as espresso.
Pilot is roasting some of the best coffee in the city and their cafes (Crafted and Te Aro) are nice, cozy spots to hang out. The three course coffee tasting at the roastery is pretty fun to do, but it does leave you feeling very wired. Getting back on topic, the Bricks and Mortar Coffee Porter is excellent. I wish it was available more often at Left Field.

I usually avoid blends for pourover as well. The Ecuador coffee they have right now is really nice. It has a pleasant acidity I haven't noticed outside of East African coffees.

What are you using to brew at home? I still use the Hario V60, but I have finally tried the Aeropress. It is not as clean as the Hario but shows a different side to the coffee.

Anniversary 3 is a very solid beer.
Dare i say that it's LF's best beer to date?

Probably one of the better saisons in Ontario. Nice dry, tart finish. the nelson sauvin hop hit is great. nice and fruity and vinous.

the berliner? it's so so. not nearly tart enough.

Prospect Galaxy, a single hop IPA is in the retail shop. I enjoyed Prospect Citra last year, so I'm sure this one will be good too.

Finally dropped in a few times, nice space inside to sit for a pint or a few 5 oz! Pale Ale on cask when I went in.

Be careful in the laneway outside, I saw people parked there getting tickets.

A shout out to Left Field. They had a great deal on, two 6-4-3 IIPAs, 1 Prospect Citra IPA, 1 Prospect Simcoe IPA bombers for $20. I've seen arguments about the profit margin on direct sales (accepting Amex etc.) so nice to see a brewer having a 'sale'. Lovely local, fresh IPAs. Obviously they upsold me and I ended up with 6 beers instead of the 4 I was planning to buy. Laser Show IIPA and Bricks and Mortar Porter were also great. Very nice to have a local option making solid beers.

I enjoy Left Field beers for the most part, including grandstand and 6-4-3. They had some nice "sales" on before Xmas too. I think it was buy a 3-pack of beer and get a free glass...maybe a 4-pack? Different glassware each day for a number of days.

Visited today and was very impressed with the Laser Show Vermont-style DIPA - check it out, hopheads. It is both on tap and for sale in bottles at the moment. They seemed to be going fast, but I have no idea if they have more in the back. Oddly, Left Field does not do growlers or fills, despite having six or seven taps on the go. Always a very pleasant place to visit.

They used to have 750ml growlers. Wonder what happened to them. No reason to not do fills in my opinion, but that's a whole other convo.

Maybe they feel it would slow the staff down too much. It is a very busy place, at least on weekends. More of a bar than a bottle shop almost - it was full to capacity with a good 15-20 people outside waiting to get in.

Unless you're setup well, growlers are annoying. Cleaning, sanitizing, filling. Sometimes a bottling line is just easier than taking returns. Plus any extra stock of theirs could get sent to LCBOs.

In my opinion, breweries should have little to do with cleaning/sanitizing. Show up, fill your growler, walk away. Let the employee do a quick smell to see if the customer actually cleaned it and decide if they will fill it or not. Blast the growler with CO2 and fill.

totally agree

also growler purchases, rather then growler deposits, encourage people to take care of their growler rather then just drink the beer and return an unusable piece of glass
