Will there be a fungible exclamation point involved in this?

I don't like the name, but whatever, I'm sure the beer will be good to incredible.

I'm sure the brews will be incredibly popular even as 'Godspeed', there are far less auspicious brewery names.

I mean take Alesmith, what the heck is 'mith' anyway? But you know they make ales.

As a traveller, I like the idea of Godspeed being the name of a brewery.
Had to google Godspeed You! Black Emperor, interesting, not my style, but interesting....haha.

Are you serious? How do you not understand their name? I can't believe I have to explain this to you. Mith (or sometimes "myth") just means something legendary and mysterious. As in their ales are mithical.

A 'smith' is generally associated with a trade or craftsmen i.e. Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Locksmith, Gunsmith, Bladesmith, etc.

I have also assumed that AleSmith was a play on these words. i.e. someone who crafts beer. Hence the Blacksmith anvil in the logo.

I just assumed that Belgian wasn't being serious. But if he was, you've exactly explained it above.

I'm pretty sure Godspeed is a contraction of 'God has peed.' This is taken from the expression: "This beer is so bloody good, it tastes as if God has peed in the bottle!" As a big fan of divine urination, i like the name.

I just assumed that you'd know Belgian wasn't being serious. Or… maybe now I'm just saying that? You may never know!
