I ended up going to Bandit for the first time for their anniversary. I had limited time. so hit the bottle shop only. The place was packed and looked nice enough.

I’ve now had the dry hopped Pils and a strawberry vanilla milkshake IPA. Both were well below average. The Pils was just a mess. The milkshake smelled of strawberry yoghurt and finished like a Budweiser. A muddled mess too. I’m a little scared of the anniversary beer, especially since they describe a blue cheese aspect to it....

I’m placing them firmly in the Falcon, Brock Street, etc. bottom tier of greater Toronto area brewers.

Best thing about the visit was that my primary purpose was to pick up glasses and beers for a guy in San Diego who really likes their logo. He is sending back a box of Societe stuff for me despite my telling him how unimpressive the Bandit beers were. So, something good came of the trip...

It was my first visit here and I had flight. Juicebox IPA was a little thin at 5.5%, but good. Orage IIPA was on point, super dank. The two dark beers (Cake Monster Habanero and Mad Batter) were severely lacking.
