Looks very slick* for a new brewery.

I hope they put as much effort into the beer itself. But something tells me they're going after customer experience/vibe rather than tasting great beer.

Unless the goal is world domination in the beer/bar biz, a hole-in-the-wall serving great beer will always win over a slick-urban-design serving bland beer-flavored water!

*meaning: expensive build out

I had their IPA as a 4oz, wasn't bad, nothing exciting. On par with a lot of the flashy neighbourhood breweries like Bandit.

I tried their Wit and Dortmunder last weekend...both were pretty tasty.

I believe this is an ex-brewer from BC. The name is currently slipping my mind.

it's a very spacious modern brewery that will also have a summer patio outside for everyone to enjoy those awesome summer afternoons.
Besides being a slick* brewery, you are absolutely right, they are also looking at creating an awesome customer experience that will bring the patrons back over and over.
However, what's a slick brewery with great customer experience if it doesn't serve awesome beer that will make you want to keep coming back for more.

I can assure everyone they are working really hard in creating beer that everyone will enjoy, comments and opinions are always welcome, it is looked as a positive to improve.

Beer will be available really soon.

SOLD!!

All seriousness, I wish them luck and I'll probably try things once since they're not too far from home, but my expectations are tempered somewhat.

I guess we are settling the bar pretty low here? :)

Bandit isn't thaaat bad, just a lot of better options in the neighbourhood. I just wasn't wowed by that IPA. I'll give em another shot if I ever see something else on tap from them.

Anyway, the head brewer is coming from Coal Harbour in East Van. Anybody know anything about them?

I recall having a reasonably interesting lager from Coal Harbour when they were just starting up. I don't keep notes, but do intend to revisit based on my previous experience. Let's call that an endorsement.

The level of competition in the Vancouver brewing scene would chew up and spit out most of our Toronto brewers in a heartbeat. If you come across a sub-par BC brewer (like maybe Red Truck), it's basically a WTF? moment and you move on. Not like here were we get excited by a new opening and then quickly disappointed. A beard and a desire to switch careers is not really enough to get you off the ground in Vancouver.

Anyway, if Ethan is from there, I'd guess he is probably well trained.

Finally the cans have a face.
Beautiful Matte silver all around, the bear head and top of the can will remain as the vivid dark blue logo color.
Love it how the glasses and MBC color has been incorporated to match the style of beer, in this photo green, red and orange.

Cute packaging for sure, but I'm more interested in if the beer is actually any good.

Close enough to my house so I'll probably stop by at some point.
