Folly Brewpub Turns One!

Folly Brewpub Celebrates First Anniversary

Toronto - 27 September 2016 - A year of beer by Folly Brewpub will be a thing of the past this October. The farmhouse-focused brewery is set to celebrate their first anniversary with a new beer, new chef and new menu.

On Wednesday, October 12, Folly Brewpub will open for their first full year of service, with Chef Anthony Santi leading the kitchen. Having travelled and worked across Canada and in various other countries, Santi draws his influence from those experiences. This results in a seasonal, locally-sourced menu with influences from around the world. Inspiration comes from frequent trips to the market and what is available at the time. The autumn menu will have some warmer influences and continue with the communal dining theme.

Folly will be temporarily expanding their tap list to showcase 12 different beers. Brewers Chris and Christina will be releasing Folly’s first Quadruple-inspired ale, Loquacious. This beer is a 11% ABV, Strong Dark Ale using a bulked up malt bill from Inkhorn, our Farmhouse Bruin. It has spent a year in a Pinot Noir barrel with Brettanomyces Lambicus to develop a fruity, funky, and slightly tart character. Limited bottles will be available on October 12 in our bottle shop and a keg of the beer will be tapped at the anniversary party.

For the party Folly will be tapping several other barrel aged and fermented beer which have only been available in limited draught release: Invented Tradition (Barrel-Fermented Golden Farmhouse Ale), Inamorata (Barrel Aged Golden Sour), and Third Smile (Barrel-Fermented Buckwheat Farmhouse Ale).

In the next year Folly plans to expand on its barrel aging and fermenting program, extend both quick and long-term sour programs, and introduce several new beers currently under development. Doors for the anniversary open at 4pm on October 12.
