I'll stand in the rain all day if I get to drink Cantillon while I do it.

They have an awning that covers the patio. It might not be super nice out there, but it's functional.

Yes, I should rephrase that a lot of the seats along dundonald will be very wet. The troopers will be present.

Unexpectedly going to Volo Zwanze instead of Blue Monk Zwanze tomorrow. If anyone is down in Buffalo tomorrow, doesn't have a tasting ticket and wants a pair of Zwanze tix, I'm selling at cost. PM me if interested. Cheers.

It's raining now, so that might slow things down. Up to 35-40 people.

Props to Volo, they're handing out water and umbrellas to the line.

Uggg. The GO bus from Hamilton took twice as long as normal and now the subway has issues slowing the entire system down. Anticipating having to stand in the rain a long time.

Line's actually much shorter than anticipated for this close to opening. Yep, it's hot out

good event.
the line was clearly a bit of an issue, but by 5ish, the wait was minimal. took me 20 min to get it.
the zwanze was good. not stouty at all.
think the Cantillon hit of the day was the Iris. i had 2 glasses (read: $24) worth.
second biggest hit? Jester King in bottles. the Syrah was amazing.

the lines to wait for Cantillon were less than 5 minutes. the lines inside the bar were a bit more intimidating, hitting 10+ minutes.

like last year, the crowds thinned out and there was ample room by evening time. i'm betting most cantillon will still be on tap today.

i won't name the brewery, but a certain Toronto brewery had one beer on tap that was literally one of the worst things i've had to drink in a long time. and i've been going to Funk events at Volo since the beginning (when Shicky Micky was head and shoulders above everything else b/c everything else tasted like cat litter or vomit). it was literally like drinking a baked potato slathered in pounds of sour cream. it was laughably repugnant. it was that Kids in the Hall "Shitty Soup" sketch. we were passing around the glass to taste how vile this beer was and we were all laughing. i was told by a friend that this beer's making its way around the city at various bars and i have no idea how the brewery could release that beer to the public. i told the bartender about it, she tried it, and minutes later, it disappeared from the taplist. thankfully.
