Golden Tap Awards 2008 - Party Up Next!

Just a quick note to say that the Golden Tap Awards 2008 will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at beerbistro. More to come, stay tuned!

Last year, the GTAs fit in well after a TFC game. This year, I hope the GTAs will fit in before the 7:30 kickoff on the 23rd. Here's hoping for an early start! :)

Voting has been launched for the 2008 Golden Tap Awards:

The categories are the same as last year for the voting. There are fewer nominees in the categories as nominees that had very few votes from last year have been dropped.

We're also going to do the Editor's Circle to determine special achievement awards outside of these categories. If anyone is interested in participating in the Editor's Circle, please email me at cass@bartowel.com.

Thanks to everyone who voted, we set a new high for votes again this year, in about 2 weeks shorter of a voting period.

The winners are determined, the awards are going to be produced this week and now the countdown to party is on!

Thinking about bringing some special casks to the show.

Cask Conditioned Toronto Tap Water
Cask Conditioned Carbon Filtered Water
Cask Conditioned Reverse Osmosis Water.

Can't wait for the reviews on RateWater.

Or perhaps we should concoct a special cask ale for the awards.

How crowded does it get?

Will the listed brewers be bringing special brews?

I mean, beyond the Cask Conditioned Toronto Tap Water. :)

It gets busy, but not crazy. Tables are at a premium later in the evening.

There will be some special brews, stay tuned for more details.

Jonah Hex - Come out man and experience it. Good beer, great food and many Bar Towellers to meet along with brewers and others in the beer industry. It was great last year and this year should be even better.

Cass - Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I don't recall seeing it. Any word on how food is going to work? Small sampling portions? Order off the menu? Pulled pork in some form or another???? :)
