C'est What Fall Festival Of Craft Breweries - Fri Oct 2nd

Post by GregClow »

21st Annual Fall Festival Of Craft Breweries
Friday October 2, 5 to 10 p.m.
C'est What, 67 Front St. W.

The time has come to embrace the cooler weather and the advent of pub season with C'est What's annual Fall Beer Festival. Dozens of breweries and even more brews to choose from in sample sizes.

While the line-up is far from complete, there are going to be two notable entries: C'est What Big Butt, our newest seasonal ale made with smoked malt and a touch of fennel seed as well as a cask of authentic early-nineteenth century beer from Black Creek Brewery.

The Black Creek offering (brewhouse and casks pictured) will be, in the words of their owner, "..a warm, flat, dark lumpy beer... People would have to be forewarned that it was brewed without any electricity and over an open flame so it will not be their normal beer." This will undoubtedly be more true to form than the brews purported to be made from the ancient family recipe.

We will post more details as they are confirmed but we know that there is no admission charge and most samples will cost a loonie.

It sounds like a great time! From previous years discussions it sounds like these events are very popular. What can I anticipate the crowd and potential of not getting in to be like? I live and work in Etobicoke and there is little chance I could get down there before 7:00. Will it be a great beer night if I make the trip?

Thanks,
Tom

Attendance at the C'est What fests can be unpredictable. They're always busy, but some of them get so packed that there's a waiting line to get in by 6 or 7, while others never get that bad. You'll just have to take your chances.

If/when you do get in, though, you'll enjoy it. Always a good time with a great selection of beer.

The person at the door last time said that the Fall fests are always much busier than the Spring fests. There is a chance of a line at 7pm.

An average list, with only one or two new beers.

There are several that I haven't tried from that list... I'm excited for tonight.

I was joking. It is an inside joke. Those in the know will appreciate it. But yes, it is an excellent list.

Ok, I thought you were joking, but I wasn't sure. I just was impressed that you had all but one or 2 of those!
