Kitchener Rib and Craft Beer Fest - July 16-18

Post by Lecocq »

Stumbled across this event coming up next weekend:

I was wondering if anyone has attended this in the past? If it's decent enough, I may consider making the 2 hr drive to check it out. Pretty decent list of brewers there that will be attending.

its a decent fest. not good if compared to toronto but very good for the kw area.

one piece of advise, go early or wait in line. last year the line to get your glass was 45min on saturday night.

The Good People at F&M will be bringing out their very last cask of the StoneHammer Maple Red Ale for the event. Make sure to ask for it!

....mmmm ribs!

The K-dub fest is always a decent event, laid back, not over crowded, in the main green at Victoria park. I prefer it to many other fests of the same or larger scale. A great place to take the family or friends out and sip some cool craft beer under the shade of the big elm trees and chew on some tasty BBQ.

New exibiting brewers this year:

Amsterdam Brewing Co.
Big Rock Brewery
Brick Brewing Co.
Cameron's Brewing Company
F&M Brewery
Great Lakes Brewery
Mill Street Brewery
Nickel Brook Beers
Railway City Brewing Company
Steam Whistle Brewing
The Flying Monkey's Craft Brewery
Wellington Brewery

I hope to taste Amsterdam's orange wit on tap, Also Mill Street's Roggenbier and I'm sure Peter will be there sampling aome smash bomb.

My wife and I are going Via Rail. It leaves Union at 11:10 Am and arrives in Kitchener at 12:38. It departs Kitchener at 21:37 and is back at Union at 23:12.

About $50 round trip. Plan to explore Kitchener and take in the Rib fest for some ribs (of course) and some great beer samples without having to worry about driving.
