The Bar Towel Bus Trip to the Blue Monk - Sat Nov 20

Post by Cass »

OK, let's go for it! 6 years (or so) after the first successful Bar Towel bus trip, here goes #2!

This time, we'll hit one of the most-talked about new places in Buffalo, the Blue Monk. We'll leave from Toronto's Union Station on Sat Nov 20th at 10am in a coach bus (not a school bus) down to Blue Monk where they will be featuring some special beer available exclusively for our trip (brands TBD). We'll have lunch there at which point you can stay tasting all the great beers that the Blue Monk has, or wander down the street to Cole's and have a beer there too. We'll depart around 8pm back to Toronto.

Tickets are $52.25, which includes the bus trip, lunch and a beer of your choice, plus the ticket site service fee of a buck and change.

You can buy your tickets here:

http://guestlistapp.com/events/34140

We need to hit a certain number of attendees before the trip goes ahead. So please, if you're interested buy a ticket! I think this is a reasonable price for what we're getting and will be a great day trip to do something (and drink something) different.

I've had to increase the ticket price by $1.25 due to the costs not exactly working out as planned with the ticket site fee. Sorry to everyone, and congrats to Harry for getting the mistake discount! :-)

If it wasn't for a trip to Montreal that weekend we'd go on this trip. We had our first trip to Cole's in August and was impressed.

Yes, as mentioned on the event page, the rules are:

- Need a passport (and be permitted to enter the US)
- Must be 21 (US LDA)
- Don't buy anything in the states (to save border headaches)

Is there anyway to get a pick up in St. Cath/Niagara Falls? Or should I just try to meet you guys there to save headaches?

Great job on organizing this.

Here's a little mention of Blue Monk in a news story on WIVB on Friday (watch the vid):
