A very intriguing line-up and I'm interested to see how Ralph's berliners turn out. I'm hoping to see what leftovers are available Saturday lunch.

Just got home from this an hour or so ago. Tried the following, all of which were great:

Murdoch Stenhouse Porter (Straight Sour / Barrel Aged Porter): AMAZING; don't usually like porters but this one was great.
Great Lakes Same Ol' Citrasaison
House Ales Gangsters Para-Weiss
Great Lakes The Saison with Low Self-Esteem

Some pretty interesting stuff tonight. Favorites included the House Ales Abbey Normal, which was anything but, Great Lakes Heavy Bretting (disliked the nose which was too oaky but loved the zippy sourness of the flavour) Gangsters Para Weiss was interesting. Hope to try this one again to be able to fully wrap my head around it.

Great event

G.L. No Chance for Miranda
House Gangsta Para Weiss
Murdoch Divi Divi Wit
G.L. Heavy Petting/Bretting
House Funkified Abbey

A friend and I did the Heavy Petting and Bretting side by side, was really interesting to see the changes the beer character had. The Abbey Normal was good but wasn't getting much funk on this one, could barely find the lacto-notes. Also had tastes of the Murdoch Stenhouse (reminiscent of Ola Dubh 12) and the Saison with Low Self Esteem, which had a great nose to it.

Favourites were the Heavy Bretting and Gangsta Para Weiss, but they were all good beers

Had a really good time at this event.

Great Lakes Same Ol'Citra Saison
Great Lakes Heavy Bretting
Great Lakes No Chance for Miranda
House Ales Alexanderplatz

All were enjoyable but the highlight for me was definitely the GL Citra Saison. Really nice beer and hope to be able to find it again at some point.

All the other beers were quite nice as well, and it was really awesome being able to try tons of new styles all from local brewers.

I had a blast too. Volo events never disappoint.

To me the Murdoch Stenhouse Porter stole the show. It was fantastic. So complex with sour cherry notes blending with the roasty porter malts. Very impressive work.

I also liked the Great Lakes Heavy Bretting quite a bit.

With 16 beers it was tough to try them all but those were the highlights for me.
