This one is the real deal in Hamilton. Two other beer fests have been rumoured, including one I posted about in this forum.

I'm looking forward to the BJCP-sanctioned competition. Knowing some of the people involved, this will be great!

This festival did everything right. 1500 people on Friday, probably about the same Saturday, but you'd never know it. So much space. Georgeous spot on the water. Tons of food trucks, several with a veg focus or at least options. No drunk and disorderlies. Everyone having a good time.

It didn't have the crazy selection or super special one-offs of some of the larger fests, but most of the 25 participants brought out 1 or 2 special or at least interesting brews. Kudos esp. to Garden brewers for debuting their Piperales (which was killer!) and Sawdust for bringing out their first mortar and bricks brew (which was keller!).

Congrats to the organizers on an excellent job. We all hope this is the first of many Because Beer fests. Congrats to Hamilton for continuing it's reimvention.
