Yesterday at Hungry Brew Hops, all draft from Sawdust City
Gose - Good lactic acid character, but could use a tad more salt and fair bit more carbonation, it was nearly flat
Golden Beach Pale - Nice session pale, lots of pine and orange zest to it, restrained malt with a bit of breadiness to it.
Skokie Winter Saison - Lot of caramel to this, but the saison yeast worked well to keep it from being too heavy despite the 8.5%

When in doubt, have an Orval! This one a winter 2012.

Smuttynose Robust Porter
Prime Rib on the grill! Another Orval will be cool by dinner time...

I cracked a Bellwoods Lambda. It's darn tasty. Also a total gusher, so if anyone else is hanging on to a few of these, open them carefully.

Good to know. Was thinking of cracking one open soon.Craig wrote:I cracked a Bellwoods Lambda. It's darn tasty. Also a total gusher, so if anyone else is hanging on to a few of these, open them carefully.
Not drinking much beer at the moment, saving up for a vacation...but just had a Highlander Twisted Spruce (better than expected) and a Red Racer ISA (not as good as expected).
Currently enjoying a Sammi Rae Root Beer from Schmohz in Michigan.
Bell's Expedition Stout from September 2013. It's awesome. Predominantly malty chocolate, but with loads and loads of other stuff going on. Not as hot as I would expect and fairly dry for the ABV. Shame I only have a couple of these left.
750ml bottle of Saison Dupont with over a year on it, amazing stuff and now accentuating the fruity and lemony notes under the earthy dryness.
This and Orval are two of the greatest beers, ever.

I would add Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier to that list, at three months old it's still in top shape.Belgian wrote:750ml bottle of Saison Dupont with over a year on it, amazing stuff and now accentuating the fruity and lemony notes under the earthy dryness.

Just trying my first Barn Owl from Bellwoods. Great stuff! Very nice fruitiness with the sourness of the brett.
