Took me four days to finish the Growler of Simcoe's Revenge, I thought it would be flat crap by now but it's still great!

Try a growler of beer at Summerhill, they seem to be OK. Maybe they will even expand to a second store! :o

St. Bernie Wit, extremely good if you can still find it on sale. I would turn the bottles over and swirl the yeast back in a few days before opening them. Nice and cloudy...

Over the long weekend at a friend's house, Dieu du Ciel!, Vices & Versa, Broue Pub Brouhaha, Hopfenstark Station Ho.st, Brutopia Brewpub, and Bier Markt Montreal:

Dieu du Ciel! Saison du Parc (bottle)
St-Ambroise Session IPA (can)
Pit-Caribou IPA Américaine (bottle)
Dieu du Ciel! Solstice d’Été aux Framboises (draft)
Dieu du Ciel! déCIBeL (cask)
Dieu du Ciel! Déesse Nocturne (draft)
2015 Hill Farmstead Dorothy (bottle)
Les Trois Mousquetaires IPA Expérimentale (sample)
Dieu du Ciel! Le Petit Détour (draft)
Hopfenstark Postcolonial IPA (draft)
Hopfenstark 7 Sisters / La Pléiade – Mérope (draft)
Hopfenstark Ostalgia Blonde (draft)
Hopfenstark Berlin Alexanderplatz (draft)
Brutopia India Pale Ale (draft)
Brutopia Chocolate Stout (sample)
Le Castor Yakima IPA (draft)

The Brutopia IPA was laughably bad, and the St-Ambroise Session was forgettable, but everything else ranged from good to outstanding. Main highlights were the Dorothy, Saison du Parc, Yakima IPA, déCIBeL, and Alexanderplatz (underrated IMO). Overall a great weekend of boozing in Montreal.

Thanks man! It was indeed a fun time. Particularly enjoyed drinking with Fred at Hopfenstark; he's one hell of a host! Now laying off the beers for a few days.

I can second that. The most fun I've ever had in Montreal was chatting with Fred at Ho.st.

Went to Mtl at the beginning of April. My experience as well at Hopfenstark. Great guy. We got there just before it opened, so had to wait a bit with some other customers. Had a chance to try mostly everything on tap as Fred kept pouring us samples of stuff we didn't get to order.

I was in St. Catharines today and stopped by Niagara College. They have 11 styles in cans (8 available today) in a Beer 101 series. Quite clever.

I'm having their India Pale Ale tonight - it's really good.

They also had some other beers available in either cans or bottles. All in all, quite an extensive selection.

I'm at thirsty & miserable all the time, go there much?

Just had a St. Bernardus Wit, if it's still on sale GRAB some guys it's drinking marvellous and far from turning sour (it's at the theoretical expiry date and I've only had one bad bottle two years past expiry.)

So glad to hear that! I picked up a bunch of Bernardus mixed packs during the 2014 holiday season and am still sitting on a few of the Wits (it's not that I dislike them, I just didn't get around to drinking them all last summer and they really are best enjoyed this time of year).

With some buddies a week ago prior to watching the Champions League final:

St. Feuillien Triple
La Trappe Tripel
Tripel Karmeliet
Goudale Spiritu Fornicationis Triple
Del Ducato Winterlude Tripel

Great to experiment with a variety of different takes on the style!
