That's the way she goes. Sometimes she goes, sometimes it doesn't. She didn't go. That's the way she goes.

Too true.

I can think of some people I've met, mostly in the past couple years, who call themselves craft beer enthusiasts but I'd probably classify as alcoholics.

Was also recently at a brewery and one of the off-duty workers was chatting with some other workers...talking about how it's pretty much expected that people in the craft beer industry (and hospitality industry in general) have a DUI or arrest for pot possession.

I take 1 month off alcohol every year....sometimes do it 2 months a year....always feel so much better afterwards.

I think it's a good test for some people...can you take a week off? Are you sure?

You friends do, too! I'm kidding of course I don't think we've met... although I do think perpetual regular drinking can make people irritable and edgy, even a little too paranoid and irrational. If people are easily set off, and they don't clearly have an accompanying personality disorder that may be a sign that alcohol has become a 'stabilizing' drug for the person. Also if they smell like a distillery by noon at work on Friday. It's good to talk about the realities of alcohol.

Breaks from alcohol ARE good. Ditto coffee, tea, even processed foods and meat for a few weeks. Oh coffee hangovers can be the worst actually...

I'll be God damned if I ever give up coffee. Most satisfying and rewarding addiction ever.

^ I hear that! Last few days I've lapped up some mediocre office French roast, and had Dark Horse (twice) and Remarkable Bean (number of times.)
Pretty much a pilgrimage anywhere in town I go is the nearby espresso bar. (Bulldog is closed BTW.)

'Pry the espresso from my cold, dead still-quivering hands.'
