So, Orval is part of both the Autumn and Winter release?

It's not on the Autumn list posted on the front page of the site by Cass today. So I would guess it's been bumped.

Othen than that, this looks like a decent but not spectacular release. Lots of re-runs, some of which I like, some not so much. I'll have to hit RateBeer to get the scoop on the new ones. Nice to see the Sam Smith's Imperial Stout, at least.

Ah, that explains it. I guess I skipped over that update to the front page. I had only seen the Autumn release forum thread. Well, that's better for me then. Now I only have to figure out how to get some Rodenbach for the fall, then Orval in the Winter, rather than both in the fall.

Well, I posted the Autumn release based on what the Infoline told me--and Orval was on that list. It looks like the LCBO gave the wrong info to either Cass or myself. Esprit would know for sure, and he didn't say anything to the contrary when I posted the Autumn list. Maybe someone can double-check...

It's good news either way, so I'm not terribly bothered. Now we only need a list of what gift packs will be available.

I'm pretty sure what I posted is correct - perhaps the LCBO made a recent decision to change. In any case, it's nice that we're getting Orval!

Because of delays in ordering the product due to a minor technicality on the label (the Canadian Orval label includes a refund statement but does not specify "where applicable" so the LCBO felt that they might be liable for giving refunds so they held up label approval for almost two months) Orval has been postponed to the Winter release in late November.

That's a little odd.....a certain unnamed beer produced here in Toronto contains no refund information at all, on carton or bottle.

If that beer is only sold in Ontario and only at the LCBO then it doesn't require any sort of refund statement.

Actually, I don't believe that refund statements are required in Ontario regardless of how or where they are sold. In our case it was the fact that there was a refund statement which didn't stipulate that it was not applicable everywhere (Ontario) which caused the problem.

Ah yes, our tax dollars working against us! I've never expected LCBO bottle refunds!? Has anyone?

I very much look forward to stocking up on the Orval, the Weltenburger, and the Blue Cap. Almost like a Free Market system. La Terrible also... oh heck most of them are worth getting!

Apparently with some regularity people bring back bottles that have some sort of refund statement be it for Quebec or for the U.S. or elsewhere in Europe and they demand refunds from the LCBO so it is a real issue for them....and bless you for stocking up on my 3 beers!!!

Happy to oblige, Peter.

A friend cashes her LCBO empties in Quebec! Good for her.

Looking forward to the Dogfish head, Fullers and most of all the Weltenburger bock and Orval.

Still have 4 Weltenburgers I cellared from last winter......they do age well and produce a bit more pronounced licorice tastes......still a lovely bock.
