Best beer logo's - branding

Post by Pub Style »

Which beer company sports the best logo - branding? I think it would be interesting to see if there is a clear choice or if it's spread out. Do we pick the branding for our favourite brew or do we think it's the best based on the branding itself.

To throw out a few of my fav's; McAuslan's, Steam Whistle, Rochefort, Rogue's and Wychwood brews. Even though Keith's is a macro - I like the Stag's head logo.

Yes, but it tastes good to go with the branding!!!

I think Stone ranks right up there for packaging...the really handsome enamelled bottles, the product names, the imagery. Very bold and unconventional which is in keeping with the great beer within.

I'm also a fan of the Smuttynose packaging. Fun, light-hearted images on the labels, colourful...very eye catching. Magic Hat also have some interesting designs.

For a Belgian I'd say Orval has a magical shape to the bottle and a simplicity and class to the undersized label.

As for Canadian beers I think, dare I say it, Sleemans and Steam Whistle. Whether you like the contents or not there's no mistaking their bottles for anyone elses.
I don't always piss in a bottle but when I do...I prefer to call it Dos Equis.

for canadian beers, i'm definetly going with Unibroue, the bottles aren't anything fancy, but i find they put so much into the artwork on the labels, and the little stories to go along with them. I think its very very well done. And i love i can get nice big 750's to add to my bottle collection.

While we're talking about best can I also throw in a vote for worst? How about the entire line of Flying Dog beers? Eyecatching but for all the wrong reasons.

A lot of people love the Flying Dog stuff.... im neutral on them myself.

Canadian:
I love the simplicity of the mill st. "banner", the St. Ambroise "medallion"/cresty circl thing is excellent.
I like the Black Oak labels a lot.

Bottles:
Unibroue with the artwork and backstorys is pretty awesome, although some of the newer brews are less fantastic than mainstays like Maudite, or Trois Pistoles.

Stone is definitely way up there, as are some of the better Three Floyds labels.

Steamwhistles painted bottles are actually pretty nifty - simple yet catchy.

Locally, I like the Mill Street branding, especially newer the painted bottles.

Rogue does a good job (except for all the re-branding), so does Stone.

I've always liked De Dolle - not too often that you see a label with a rabbit or a snowman having a beer...

Love that AB ad.

I tend to like the painted bottles. I would have loved to have seen the glow-in-the-dark Rogue Dead Guy Ale bottles.

My girlfriend finds many of the Vapeur bottles to be quite funny:

Maybe not the best but good nonetheless: Utah's Polygamy Porter. Their slogan? "Why have just one"?

The Upper Canada Winter Brew label was one of my favorites. I like the Smuttynose labels too.

It might be worth noting here that my girlfriend picked up a four pack of Amerian pint glasses at Walmart for ten bucks. This pack contained a Brooklyn Lager glass, Buzzards Bay Brewing, Otter Creek Brewing and Arcadia IPA. For those collecting it might be worth checking out.

They are in the regular glasses aisle.
